Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya at 11,747 square kilometers. Opened in April of 1948, it is located near the village of Voi in the Taita District of Coast Province. The park is divided into east and west sections by the A109 road and a railway. Named for the Tsavo River, which flows west to east through the national park, it borders the Chyulu Hills National Park, and the Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania. Tsavo East National Park is one of the world's largest game reserves, providing undeveloped wilderness homes to vast numbers of animals with over 500 bird species recorded in the area. Location
Sentrim Tsavo East is located in Tsavo East National Park. The entire 19 tents are spread out in a shadowed glade among Boskia trees. The camp has the atmosphere of the pioneer camps of long ago while providing the luxury of a permanent camp with modern amenities. The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar.
Climate
Generally hot and dry fanned by a cool breeze. Long rains are anticipated from mid April to May and the short rains from November to early December. Minimum temperature of 18° and maximum of 37° celsius.
Access
The camp is 345 kilometers from Nairobi, 11km from Voi gate and 40 kilometers from the Buchuma gate, and about 2 hours drive from Mombasa. Malindi is 167 kilometers and about 3 hours drive.
Accomodation & rooms
Each of the spacious tents has a modern ensuite bathroom, hot and cold showers, writing desk and an elevated private balcony for spectacular views of the sunsets and the hills, which have abundant wildlife. The tents have got , personal closets, flush toilets and sockets for battery charging for cameras. There is power for lighting in everyroom, a bathroom and flushing toilets.
Facilities
Dinning area - we have a spacious and well lit dinning area. Meals are served here by our service team. With its own electricity supply ,the camp is well lit in the evening, in all tents and public areas. You can recharge your Camera battery at the power outlet, ready for the next day's big game photo shoot.
